Generous and global flavor @ Gokase Tea (Gokase Town, Miyazaki Prefecture) by Miyazaki Chabo

Takachiho area, a rare production area of “Kama-iricha”

The tea produced in this area is collectively called “Takachiho tea,” and the “kama-iricha” produced here in Gokase Town has won many prizes in Japanese tea competitions.

Kama-yori tea is a type of tea production method.
The first heating process to make tea from raw tea leaves is not “steamed” but “roasted” in a kettle.
The tea leaves are then finished not in a needle-like shape, but rather in a ball shape. Because of this shape, it is also called Kama-yori Tamaryokucha or Guricha.

The tea plantation is located in the northwestern part of Miyazaki Prefecture, right on the border with Kumamoto and Oita Prefectures. The tea plantation stretches across steep mountainous terrain.
It is said that when Kyushu Island appeared, the first town to be created was Gokase Town, which is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.

The outer rim of Aso can be seen far beyond.
There is also the only “ski resort” in Miyazaki Prefecture.
(Many people think it doesn’t snow in Kyushu, but it does in Kyushu.)

Miyazaki Chabo has been growing and making tea without using pesticides for about 40 years. He has obtained JAS organic certification.

Mr. Miyazaki also focuses on supporting immigrants.
Every region is now promoting immigration, but in order for young people from the city to settle in, they still need the cooperation of the local community. The preparedness of the people who accept them is proportional to the number of immigrants.
In addition, many young people come here several times a year for training and experience. It is evident that Mr. Miyazaki is very popular.

Teas from Miyazaki Tea House, a pioneer in organic farming

Mr. Miyazaki produces a wide variety of green and black teas in several varieties.
Miyazaki Prefecture is also one of the prefectures with the highest number of “registered tea varieties” in Japan.

We are leading the young force, carefully guiding them in what they want to create, and creating Miyazaki Chabo tea that can be found nowhere else.

A wide variety of tea varieties.
Yabukita, Mine Kaori, Minami Sayaka, Okumidori, Sae Midori, Sayama Kaori, Kanayamidori, Meirikyo, Okuyutaka, Takachiho, Conventional, Yamanami, Benifuuki, Takachiho, etc.
The number of varieties will continue to increase.

We make green tea, black tea, and semi-fermented tea (oolong tea) by taking advantage of the individuality of these diverse tea varieties through our technology. Black tea and white tea are also popular.

The green tea is kama-firi-cha, a rare type of green tea in Japan (kama-firi-cha production is said to be less than 1% of total green tea production in Japan).
(It is said that less than 1% of the total production of green tea in Japan is kama-firi-cha.)
) About 50% of this rare kama-firi-cha is produced in Miyazaki Prefecture, and the Takachiho district here boasts the largest production volume in the prefecture.
The taste of “Saemidori” kama-yori tea is exquisitely balanced. Once you drink it, you will be impressed by its beautiful color and light taste. The fragrant aroma of kettle-fired tea lingers in your nostrils and keeps you refreshed.

The black tea is also “Minami Sayaka.
It has a floral aroma and a gentle sweetness. You can also enjoy a different aroma and flavor when brewed with water.

Mr. Miyazaki’s tea is made without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Soft and gentle, it is relaxing to drink and invigorating.
Mr. Miyazaki’s tea is that kind of tea.

Mr. Miyazaki’s teas have a following of fans who look forward to the teas every year.
These teas are so appealing that I want to collect them all.

This “kama-iribancha” is very popular not only in Japan but also abroad!
